McKenzie 210 Scouting

1998/1999 Note: It's been a busy year and I haven't had the time to update these pages. This year was my last year as a Cub (and we STILL haven't updated the picture used to make this background!! It was taken the day that I was invested as a cub.)

Anyway, On Wednesday, March 17th I "swam up" and became a Scout. This page will have to be changed as I am no longer a Cub. We have pictures of our first Scout camp loaded. Check them out Thanks to Scouter Paul for sharing them with us!

On the weekend of May 7th to 9th McKenzie 210 held their bi-annual all sections group camp. We'll be writing up a summary of it but for now check out the pictures that we have. Once again, a BIG thanks to Scouter Paul for sharing these!

1997/1998

Hi I am Sacha Lassaline. I am nine years old and and this is my second year in cubs. This year I am a sixer. A sixer is in charge of a group of cubs. I have to call all the members of my six each Sunday night and let them know what they need to bring to the meeting on Monday. Being a sixer is a big responsibility and I really enjoy doing it.

People have told me to update my picture because now I have lots of badges. (here's a link to a picture of them all) My picture to the left shows me with no badges! I have so many now that I have to put them on the back of my badge sash.

We've done a lot of things already this year. We went to camp in the fall and just before Christmas we had a sleep out called "Sleep Under the Stars". During this event we got to go to Canada Olympic Park and sleep in the museum. We toured the park and even got a chance to ski. It was a lot of fun.

In November we had our annual popcorn sales. We sell lots of really good popcorn to raise money for Scouts Canada and our own cub pack. We did really well, Calgary is always the top seller in Canada and it is fun being a part of that. Click on the Trail's End Popcorn graphic above to find out more about the popcorn sales.

Scouting in a great thing for kids to do. Scouting is available all over the world. If you want to learn about Scouting in Canada, click on the Scouts Canada logo to the right. Scouting in Canada is celebrating its 90th year in 1998.

Check in to see what we did last year and to find out more about my family and Scouting with McKenzie 210. While you are here, sign my guestbook so I know who has been visiting.
